Carbon fiber rods are manufactured in a process called pultrusions. Pultruded shapes have very straight fibers cured at high temperature resulting in high fiber to resin ratios and very stiff parts. CST carbon rods contain no fillers - ONLY continuous fibers. Most diameters are available up to 98" long. Dimensional tolerances are +/- 0.005" and weight tolerances +/- 2-5%.

Compared to other materials and processes, CST carbon fiber rods are twice as stiff as aluminum of the same diameter. CST carbon rods are 350% stronger in tension and 550% stronger in compression than the tradional wet lay-up with carbon fiber tow and room temperature resin systems.

    • RECTANGULAR CARBON FIBER LAMINATES Carbon Fiber Laminates
    Laminates are cured rectangular carbon-epoxy strips with a high fiber-to-resin ratio. The carbon fibers are oriented the length of the strip for maximum strength. The finely textured surfaces have good bonding characteristics However sanding the surfaces may improve the bond. The actual thickness will vary. If a thinner strip is desired, the textured surface may be sanded away without effecting the strength. Call technical support at 661-823-0108 for custom parts and/or quotation.
